We start by walking the property with you and looking at the things that actually determine what will live: sun exposure through the day, where water sheets during a hard Kansas rain, how much of the front elevation you want to see, and how the beds read from the street and from inside the house. From there we lay out bed lines, select plant material and set spacing for mature size — not nursery size.

Plant selection is regional on purpose. Hydrangea, boxwood, Japanese maple, ornamental grasses, coneflower, catmint, viburnum, serviceberry and redbud all perform well here when they are sited correctly and planted in amended soil rather than dropped into raw clay. Every installation includes soil preparation, proper planting depth, a hardwood mulch layer and an honest watering schedule for the first season.

Larger projects can include landscape lighting, boulder placement, steel or stone edging, drainage corrections and new turf, all sequenced so the property is not torn open longer than it has to be.
